Privacy Policy

Summary Your notes, photos, and display settings stay on your device and are never sent anywhere. Only the free-period start time is synced within your own iCloud account so it carries across reinstalls and device changes. We do not collect personally identifiable information. We process anonymous usage statistics to improve the app, plus purchase status, purchase history, and a random anonymous ID to provide In-App Purchases.

Information we collect

LockBoard (the "App") does not collect personally identifiable information. There are no accounts and no ads.

To improve the App and provide In-App Purchases, we process the following information:

Feature usage events (app launches, completion of the initial setup, wallpaper exports, and similar)
General environment information such as device model, OS version, app version, and language
Whether the install came through App Store advertising (via Apple's standard ad attribution, which contains no personally identifiable information)
Purchase status and history (including the App Store receipt), purchased plan, last-seen time, and a random anonymous ID generated by RevenueCat to verify purchase access

None of this includes the contents of your notes, your photos, your name, or your email address. Analytics device identifiers are transformed irreversibly (hashed), and the RevenueCat ID is not connected to an account or your name. Neither is used to identify you or track you across other companies' services. Prices, receipts, and transaction IDs are not sent to TelemetryDeck.

Analytics are powered by TelemetryDeck (TelemetryDeck GmbH, Germany), a service designed for privacy-preserving analytics.

Purchase access is managed through RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc.). Payments themselves are processed by Apple's App Store; neither the developer nor the App receives your credit card information.

If you have opted in to sharing with Apple in iOS settings, Apple may additionally provide the developer with anonymized crash reports and statistics. These contain no personally identifiable information.

Data stored on your device

The following data is stored only on your device to provide the App's features. No third party, including the developer, can access it.

The contents of the notes on your board
The photo you chose as a background (only the single selected photo is copied into the App; the App never requests access to your entire photo library)
Display settings such as text size
The image exported as your wallpaper

This on-device data is deleted when you delete the App. If you want to change a wallpaper that has already been set on your Lock Screen, you can do so at any time in the iOS wallpaper settings.

Free-period start time synced through iCloud

When a shortcut App Intent first completes successfully, the App stores that date in UserDefaults and Apple's iCloud Key-Value Store. Its only purpose is to carry the 7-day free period across reinstalls and your own devices. Only the date is synced; it does not include your notes, photos, display settings, or purchase information.

Apple syncs this value within your own iCloud account, so it may remain in iCloud after you remove the App from a device. If you are not signed in to iCloud, the value is stored only on that device.

Integration with the Shortcuts app

The App works with Apple's Shortcuts app to set your wallpaper. The wallpaper image is handed over entirely on-device and never passes through an external server.

If we change this policy, we will announce it on this page. For significant changes, we will also mention it in the App's update notes.
